A Day Out At Darling Harbour

 

Do you plan to visit Sydney? Are you coming to the city for just the weekend or are you taking your holiday here? You simply should not miss a visit to Darling Harbour. There is a variety of attractions for the whole family . Here is just some of what the Harbour has to offer.

Want to go Whale Watching? Well you can! Take a two hour Adventure Tour on a custom designed boat with experienced crew and guides. The boat departs from Cockle Bay Marina daily at 10:30am and again at 2pm. Prices are from $40 - $60. Many offer a free second trip if you do not spot a whale so check out the fine print for this.

Have some lunch at the famous Hurricane’s Grill. You can get a steak or some ribs or if you are more into sea food then why not get a seafood platter. They are open from Mon-Sat 12:00 - 3pm for lunch or if you prefer to go there for dinner they are are open from 5:30pm - 11pm. On Sundays they are open from 12:00 - 10:30pm.

Take a short detour to see some big personalities; Madame Tussauds has opened in the heart of the harbour. You can see International stars as well as Aussie Icons. Kylie, Nicole Kidman as well as Barack Obama are here and waiting to have a snap with you! They are open daily from 9am - 8pm. Prices range from $15.40 - $38

Now if you like animals then there are two attractions you will want to check out.First we have Wild Life Sydney Zoo. You can see one of it’s stars - Rex the five metre crocodile. This is a part indoor, part outdoor enclosure that adds to the fun. They are open daily 9am - 8pm. Prices are from $14 - $36. The other attraction is the Sydney Aquarium. Here you can see sharks, rays and other sea life. You can also see Floaty the Turtle. They are open daily from 9am - 8pm. The price for admission is from $15.40 - $38.

You can also get a pass that will get you into Madame Tussauds, Wild Life zoo and the Aquarium, the price for this pass costs from $36 - $70.

If you just want to relax, unwind and while an afternoon away, the harbour has a wonderful Chinese Garden. It has a reflection pond, garden house pagodas as well as beautiful vegetation. They are open daily from 9:30 - 5pm. Prices are $3 - $6.

For a musical twist, check out some Rock’n’Roll memorabilia at the famous Hard Rock Cafe. You can see items such as Bono’s jacket and Janis Joplin’s purse. They are open Monday - Friday 12:00 - Late and Saturday and Sunday 11:30 - Late.

Staying with the Showbiz, catch a the latest blockbuster on a very, very big screen. The Imax cinema screen in the Harbour has the largest screen in the world. Some of the upcoming film releases in 3D are Pacific Rim and Man Of Steel. Prices are from $16 - $31

There for dinner? Why not dine at Sepia. Here you can find great examples of fusion Australian cuisine. They are also open for lunch as well. Tuesdays - Friday 12:00 - 3pm. Dinner is from 6pm - 11pm.

Now to end your night. Party at the Cargo Bar. Sunday through to Thursday they are open 12:00pm - 12:00am and from Friday - Saturday they are open 12:00pm to 4:00am.

So go to Darling Harbour. Entertainment for all. Just one down side. There is not enough time in the day to do it all. Why not stay at one of the many hotels in the area.
