Road Trips Revisited - Robertson NSW

Welcome to the first in a series of blog posts detailing short road trip destinations, tips and tricks. Short road trips are perfect for day or weekend getaways. We live in a busy, fast-paced world but when the opportunity arises it is good for the body and soul to take some time to enjoy our surrounds. Luckily in Australia we have an abundance of beautiful places to explore and over the next several blog posts we will be looking at places to visit within short two or three hour drives from Sydney.   Road trips allow us to reminisce, to remember drives we took with our parents, having sing-alongs; playing eye-spy and the repetitive sounds of “are we there yet?” Nowadays we can redesign the humble road trip. Imagine renting a good quality, reliable, affordable, clean car with a full tank of fuel, all ready to start your journey. Here at Orana we can get you on your way quickly and effortlessly, ready for you to begin exploring this wonderful country. Robertson is a small town situated in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW. An easy 2-hour drive from Sydney and you can find yourself in the quaint village known lovingly and locally and the “Green heart of the Highlands”. Conveniently located between the costal beauty of the Shoalhaven, the luscious rainforests of the Illawarra and the shops, restaurants and amenities of nearby Bowral and Mittagong. Robertson and its surrounds has something for everyone. For the nature lovers, explore the magnificence of Fiztroy Falls, Belmore Falls or Carrington Falls. For the more adventurous, try the Illawarra Fly with its stunning views from the treetop walk. For those travelling through you can’t go past the iconic Robertson pie shop, a firm favourite for those upholding the road trip traditions. For the history lovers, we recommend a stop at the Robertson Cheese Factory, complete with café and selling local wares, the Cheese factory is a popular tourist destination. Last, but definitely not least, don’t forget to check out the ‘Big Potato’ that takes pride of place in Robertson’s main street, and without spoiling the surprise, some visitors (especially those with a wicked sense of humour) may not think that the ‘Big Potato’ resembles only a root vegetable.   If you are thinking of taking the journey to the gorgeous Southern Highlands, be sure to mention your plans when booking your rental car with Orana and we can help organize a more detailed plan of places to visit, where to eat and accommodation options.   As always, here at Orana we are committed to providing excellence in all areas of our business, customer service is of upmost importance to us and we would love to hear from you with any feedback.
